Our first Hay Festival guest arrived today. What a great guy! We were so excited as this means our business is officially up and running- after all that hard work we can at last share the home we love with like-minded people. The scenery looks stunning, the birds are singing their hearts out, the trees and hedges are in full bloom and the sun is shining. What more could you want? I can’t wait to go to the Festival myself. To crown it all, we’re now “live” on Alistair Sawday’s site. Why not check us out- you’ll find us under Hay-on- Wye self catering at http://www.sawdays.co.uk

Phew! Can we dry out now please?

I’m sure we’re not alone in wondering if the recent downpours of the last week are someone’s idea of a joke after a drought was declared. I’m old enough to remember 1976 (now that really was a dry year) and … Continue reading

Outrageously green

May has arrived and the Radnorshire hills are bathed in that luminous green that always takes your breath away at this time of year. We’ve heard the cuckoo but unlike last year, he isn’t right next to the farm; he … Continue reading
